70 years of tradition
Next year Danfoss Trata will celebrate its 70 years of operation. Main milestones in its history include market leadership in former Yugoslavia in the early 1990s and integration with Danfoss as from 1995.
 
Danfoss Trata has been attaining notable results since 1995, including an exceptional growth of profit, introduction of modern production principles, and highly developed supply chains. The company has developed numerous new innovative and quality products which are now setting future developmental directions within the district heating markets.

Kovinolivarna Franc Smole, which operated in the field of casting and machining of cast-iron products for industrial and municipal services, started operating in 1937.
 
Development in the field of central and district heating installations in the years after the Second World War resulted in production programme of various regulation elements.
In 1957 the Company was one of the founders of the IMP and quickly spread its production programme into the field of electronic regulators and valves.
 
In the early 1990s the Company attained almost 90% of the market share in the field of district heating regulation and air-conditioning on the territory of former Yugoslavia.
Danfoss, a leading international company in the field of heating, refrigeration, and motion control, with headquarters in Denmark, became Trata's majority owner in 1995.
 
Danfoss has invested into development from the very beginning and has succeeded in consolidating productions of district heating components dispersed in its numerous factories throughout Europe.
Their purpose was to establish a centre for the development and production of district heating components in Slovenia.
